After many years of dabbling in the darkroom I purchased a digital DSLR in 2003 and my photography enthusiasm was re-invigorated. While I focused on landscapes and wildlife, my interest was simply being behind the camera and making better images.
In 2015 the FAA allowed the first commercial drone operations. At that time a pilot’s license was required; being a photographer and a pilot made for a niche I couldn’t pass up. Fines Aerial Imaging, LLC came to life.
Since then I’ve been involved with using drones primarily for advertising (video and stills) and industrial inspections, but with a variety of other applications. A current personal project is using drones to collect 360 images for an upcoming Virtual Reality (VR) art exhibit.
